We are happy to announce that the Berklee Faculty Union and Berklee College of Music have reached a tentative contract agreement, subject to the ratification vote of the faculty.

We thank all our supporters - students, parents, alumni and community members - who signed petitions, contacted the College, wrote letters and reached out in solidarity with the faculty. Without your support we could not have achieved this milestone.

We also thank the Berklee faculty for standing in unity with our new colleagues from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and for the commitment and passion of our new BoCo at Berklee members who have stayed strong, committed and unified.

We will release more details later, but for now we look forward to celebrating together with our fellow Berklee Faculty Union members tomorrow, September 1, at Berklee’s Opening Day.

We are stronger together! Thank you all.

We're the Berklee Faculty Union, established in 1986, a chapter of the American Federation of Teachers, Local 4412, AFT-MA, AFL-CIO.

When a person becomes a faculty member at Berklee College of Music they can choose their level of membership within the Union.

For the Berklee faculty, our union is imperative. Through our collective efforts, we’ve lowered our classroom hours, assured our pay is acceptable, and protected our best interests in contract negotiations. We’re backed not only by each other, but by the resources and skills of the AFT.

Without our union, we’d go backwards. Let’s keep going forward.
