Minutes from Union Executive Committee Meeting
/Present – Michael Abraham, Prince Charles Alexander,Dennis Cecere, Peter Cokkinias, Marti Epstein, Margaret McAllister, Jeff Perry, Denise Pons, Stephanie Reich, Jackson Schultz, David Scott, Andrew Shryock, Will Silvio, and Jeri Sykes. Guests: Mike Johnson and Ani Johnson
Peter made a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Marti seconded and the vote was unanimous to accept the minutes.
We discussed the possible scholarship for a student in government. The committee will discuss and bring back ideas in the next few weeks.
We discussed special projects at BoCo in lieu of a course. The hours are used to support the chair with specific duties – these are not chair positions nor persons of leadership but they do administrative work for the chairs for a one course release.
Service to the College at BoCo was discussed.
Two grievances at level three have been postponed until after spring break.
We are adding additional information to the FAQ section of the website to address some issues that are coming up with faculty.
We discussed the possibility of adding a second Grievance Officer after the election. The position would need to be approved by faculty at an all-faculty meeting in the fall.
A sub-committee to look at faculty evaluations will be formed after spring break.
Nominations meeting is March 28 at 1 pm in room 402/136.
Minutes from All-Faculty Budget Meeting
/Present UEC – Michael Abraham, Prince Charles Alexander, Dennis Cecere, Peggy Codding, Peter Cokkinias, Marti Epstein, Danny Harrington, Helen Lewis, Margaret McAllister, Jeff Perry, Denise Pons, Stephanie Reich, Wendy Rolfe, Jackson Schultz, David Scott, Elizabeth Seitz, Will Silvio, Tom Stein, and Jeri Sykes.
Jackson opened the meeting.
Jeff presented the budget. David presented on the new line item of Faculty/Community Outreach. After discussion we called for a voice vote and the vote passed unanimously to accept the proposed budget.
We discussed representation for faculty at any meeting with administration. Faculty have the right for representation and we encourage faculty to ask for a Union representative to accompany you to any meeting with management. If you find yourself in a meeting and you feel the need for representation, please stop the meeting and contact the Union immediately.
