Minutes from Union Executive Committee Meeting

Present – Michael Abraham, Dennis Cecere, Marti Epstein, Rich Grudzinski, Danny Harrington, Margaret McAllister, Jeff Perry, Wendy Rolfe, Jackson Schultz, David Scott, Will Silvio and Jeri Sykes.

1. Marti made a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Jeri seconded and the vote was unanimous to accept the minutes.
    
2. AFT National convention. Mike Scott can go as a past-president, Jackson made a motion to send him, Jeff seconded, and the vote was unanimous to send Mike. Peggy and David will also be going.
    
3. Faculty evaluations of chairs – we will be revising over break. Effective/Ineffective instead of Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.
    
4. We discussed the salary and wage re-negotiation process. We will send a reminder to all faculty with a link to the salary and wage comparison from the Union website.
    
5. Grade submission deadline for fall semester – we have a proposal from management to move one week sooner December 31, the date may change year to year, i.e.: fall 2016 the date would be Dec. 30. We discussed the pros and cons of changing the date. We will continue to discuss with Jay.
    
6. Upcoming newsletter – should be done after break.

1. Danny made a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Jeri seconded and the vote was unanimous to accept the minutes.
    
2. We discussed the meeting with BoCo faculty on March 1.
    
3. There are two conferences coming up – AFT national in Las Vegas, March 31-April2, maybe David Scott, Prince Charles, and Peggy. AFT-MA is April 29-30, Marti, Jackson, Jeff, Danny, Dino, Peter, Peggy (maybe).
    
4. We discussed providing additional information for salary and wage comparisons; gender, ethnicity, etc.
    
5. Bargaining 2016 – we discussed our options.

2. We will be meeting with BoCo faculty Tuesday March 1 from 5-7. We discussed the proposed merger and the BoCo faculty joining our ranks.
    
3. We discussed the bargain coming up this summer.
    
4. Dennis ran the numbers for the salaries 2015-2016 and they will be posted on the web.
    
5. BoCo faculty provided a list of questions to the Union. We went over them in detail.
