Minutes from Union Executive Committee Meeting

Present – Michael Abraham, Prince Charles Alexander, Dennis Cecere, Peggy Codding, Peter Cokkinias, Margaret McAllister, Jeff Perry, Stephanie Reich, Wendy Rolfe, Jackson Schultz, Tom Stein, David Scott, and Jeri Sykes.

  1. Dennis made a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Peter seconded and the vote was unanimous to accept the minutes.
     
  2. We discussed a faculty member against whom there are allegations.
     
  3. Faculty schedules were discussed. All faculty should review their schedules for the next semester for any irregularities and review with chair as soon as possible.
     
  4. BoCo meeting will take place as soon as possible. We are looking to find a location.
     
  5. We discussed fees being assessed on the 403b plan. Let’s discuss at the next Union/Management meeting.

Present – Dennis Cecere, Peter Cokkinias, Marti Epstein, Danny Harrington, Margaret McAllister, Jeff Perry, Stephanie Reich, Wendy Rolfe, Tom Stein, Jackson Schultz, David Scott, Will Silvio and Jeri Sykes.

  1. Jackson opened the meeting. We discussed the resolution of the bargain this summer.
     
  2. We discussed faculty scheduling issues. Assigning classes should go to FT first, then PT 3-Year contracts, then remaining PT faculty, we will work on getting this language in the next faculty contract.
     
  3. Ranking of new BoCo faculty was discussed.
     
  4. Ratification meetings need to be scheduled for both BoCo and Berklee. We will try to schedule for next week.
     
  5. Staff member that has lost hearing and has a brain tumor, the school is not being as helpful as they should. Danny made a motion to make a one-time donation of $2000 to this staff member. We discussed. Jackson amended to pay $1000 directly and $1000 towards a lawyer for advice. Marti seconded and the vote was unanimous.
